It was a conversation with a neighbor, who was working at Paquin & Carroll Insurance, who said what an amazing place it was to work that started Lynnsey McDonough on an insurance career path in 2008. Originally hired as a backup to the receptionist, Lynnsey quickly became licensed and moved to the Personal Lines Department where she was an Account Manager for 10 years. Currently, Lynnsey is a Personal Lines Account Executive in charge of new business sales. Paquin & Carroll’s focus on continuing education, along with mentorship from Lynn Vigneault – who has 35 years and counting in the insurance industry, helped Lynnsey become the agent she is today.

Lynnsey resides in Saco, Maine, with her husband Adam, two sons Tyler and Liam, and dog Duke. Outside of the office, Lynnsey is often at her children’s sporting events cheering them on.

Why Insurance? There are a wide variety of roles in an insurance agency, but at the end of the day it comes down to people and protecting members of a community. Explaining the importance of insurance, the coverage options available and then tailoring a policy which meets an individual’s needs, makes this such a rewarding career.

Where do you see the industry in 10-20 years? The insurance industry has changed so much since I started in 2008, and will need to continue to evolve as our customers’ needs do. No matter the changes, the trusted relationships formed with the individuals we work with will be most important.

What one piece of advice would you give to anyone new coming into Insurance? Find a mentor, sharpen your listening skills, and always keep integrity and customer service at the forefront of what you do each day.
