Agent Spotlight: Doug Allard, OneDigital
Doug Allard
Commercial Lines Account Executive
OneDigital (formerly Kinney Pike Insurance), White River Jct., VT
How did you get into insurance?
I got into the insurance industry from a friend of a friend that worked at a small office, and they were looking for a Commercial Lines Producer.
I joined Kinney Pike in 2014 with 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry and over 20 years of sales experience. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Business Management and have been hard at work earning the trust of clients across New Hampshire and Vermont ever since.
I take great pride in being a father to three children, following their achievements and events. My family are avid New England sports fans and enjoy the outdoors and its natural environments – feeding Raccoons, Owls, wild Turkeys and Deer that frequent our back lawn. In the nicer weather, our family can be found swimming in our pool, riding the 4 Wheelers, golf carts or walking our Bernese Mtn dog, Zoey. Outside of Vermont, we enjoy vacationing in Maine, Boston and Lake George, NY.
What initiatives does your agency participate in that contribute to sustainable business practices?
Through education, mentoring, and development programs, we are helping all of our colleagues to understand the benefits of diverse teams, as well as the myriads of complex obstacles that stand in our way. Our ever-evolving curriculum is designed to grow our team members and to create even more positive outcomes for the OneDigital team and our clients.
We do our best work, achieve increased results, innovate more impactful solutions, build better teamwork and are happier when we can all show up as our true selves. Feeling free to bring all of what makes our colleagues unique isn’t just our commitment, it’s the expectation. A relentless focus on our culture of belonging is driven from the top down and from the ground up. We cannot be a true company of consequence unless inclusion & belonging are part of our DNA.
How does your agency represent the community it serves?
Giving back to the communities we serve through our volunteer efforts and our financial giving isn’t just a responsibility, it’s an honor. We embrace the goal of representing the communities we serve by investing in local causes focused on reducing social injustice.
How does your agency support and/or strengthen your community?
With many years of experience protecting the people and businesses in Vermont and across the Northeast, we have become a staple in many of our communities. Our neighbors own the businesses we shop at, participate in the same community and school events with our employees, and many of them choose us as their trusted insurance agency. We, in turn, return the favor by supporting the businesses, individuals and neighbors who support us.
What unexpected skill or talent do you have?
I am very good at building things with my hands, mostly with wood.
What was the best/proudest moment at your agency /in your tenure in the industry?
Making budget for the past 6 years and winning the Paul Dorsey Salesman Award 2020 Top Producer
How are you planning for the impact of climate change/technological change on industry?
By harnessing cutting-edge technology with the power of data, we enable our clients and internal teams with tools designed to enhance their consulting power and provide valuable insights into workforce and financial strategies. Everywhere we look, there’s a rush to adopt the latest tech. But at OneDigital, we’re moving a little differently. While the world chases after the next big thing, we’re focusing on impact and asking, “How can our tech drive meaningful change for our clients?” At the heart of our technology is a commitment to making a real difference in business. Every tool we develop, every process we automate, is chosen with a clear purpose: to provide our clients with the solutions, support, and insights that will truly transform the way they do business.
