Shannon Quintin began her insurance career in a small, independent claims office as an administrative assistant, and her devotion to the insurance needs of her community has only grown since. Currently she is the Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager with Mullen Insurance Agency / Marketplace Insurance Center. She joined Mullen / Marketplace in 2003 as a Commercial Lines CSR and earned her agent’s license in 2004. “I just learned as I went,” she said. She is proud of her agency’s role in the community and the trust her customers have in the agency.

What is the best/proudest moment at your agency? Piecing together coverages for a startup company involved with natural gas and tailoring their insurance needs as they grew to become one of our largest clients and one of the largest natural gas dealers in New England. It was a good challenge and succeeding in the end is a fantastic feeling!

How does your agency represent the community it serves? Being one of the largest independent agencies in Vermont with 8 offices helps us to keep things personal with our clients, some of whom we have had for 40+ years! Still meeting face-to-face with clients gives us a sense of compassion and understanding of their insurance needs with a personal touch. Some of our customers have worked with the same agent for 20+ years. That kind of loyalty from our clients just proves they trust that we have their best insurance interests at hand.

What would you do for a career if you weren’t in insurance? FBI-BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) – Yes, I am a Criminal Minds junkie!

What unexpected skill or talent do you have? I’m ambidextrous when playing pool.
