What was your first job?

Photo Lab Technician – I started working at CVS Pharmacy when I was 15 and continued to work there throughout high school and college (10 years), developing pictures mostly. When I first started, film cameras were still in their prime and I really enjoyed the process of developing the film into photos.  Once digital cameras became big, I missed the process of developing the film and seeing the timeline from the first photo on the roll, to the last.

What do you enjoy most about working at Union Mutual?

It’s hard to pick one! I am very proud to be part of the Union Mutual team, but in relation to my role I would say I most enjoy ensuring that a property or business is safe.  If we can prevent a family or business from having to go through something like water or fire damage, that’s really the ultimate goal.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career in the Insurance Industry?

Always be open to learning.  The industry is constantly evolving and staying on top of current trends in construction, equipment and exposures is important.  Don’t compare your knowledge or skills – everyone has their own strengths.
